Today we watched You're Not You, a by-the-numbers wheelie movie where Hilary Swank is diagnosed with ALS and befriends a dysfunctional young attendant who aids her through the ensuing health and marital troubles. We also discuss the tenets of a thorough assisted shower, the conspicuous absence of disabled life gurus, and the annoying Hollywood assumption that disabled lives are sexless and unproductive.
